Check this out!  Santa Rosa’s own Russian River Brewing Companies “Pliny the Younger” is again the number one beer in the world according to The Beer Advocate.   Released for only two weeks a year (Feb. 2-16^th ) the beer drew crowds from all over the world.  People travelled from as far as Australia, Belgium and Argentina, to get a taste of this Santa Rosa’s Breweries famous beer.  The line wrapped around the block for the first week of release.  What can we say?  Not only are we the place of plenty in the heart of wine country, we know have arguably the best brewery in the world.  Dan Barwick, winemaker at Santa Rosa’s own Paradise Ridge Winery says ““it takes a lot of good beer to make great wine”.  The Russian River Brewing Company has been a beer lover’s mecca since moving to Santa Rosa in 2003.  Even though Pliny the Younger is available only two weeks out of the year, Pliny the Elder (The #4 beer in the world) is available year round.
